After premiering at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, the second trailer has dropped for the Tom-Hardy-led Venom reboot. Based on the brief clips we see in the two minute spot, it seems like … some things are staying consistent with the comics: the symbiote coming from space, Eddie Brock (Hardy) working as a reporter and … that’s about it. Judging by the trailer, we might even get multiple symbiotes which might eventually lead us into the Venomverse, a current line from the Marvel comic books. The main villain in the movie is Dr. Carlton Drake, played by Rogue One’s Riz Ahmed, who is experimenting on humans with the symbiote to find the “next step in human evolution”. Because that’s how science works.
Check out the trailer (and the new poster) and let’s all collectively hope for the best. In the mean time, I will be photoshopping the Venom teeth onto pictures of my pug. Stop me.
