The Teen Titans are (finally) coming to the movie theatre.
The original five seasons (and a movie) that made up the original run of Teen Titans were probably some of Cartoon Network’s best: a mix of humor and legitimately great story-telling and character development. The animated shows that ran during that time, whether Justice League or Batman Beyond were really my first deep dive into comic book mythos and, for that, I will be always grateful.
Which is why Teen Titans: Go has always struck me as odd. While I welcomed the returning voice cast from the 2003 animated series, I could never really get on board with the manic humor or more comedic take on some of my favorite heroes in the DC Universe.
While normally I would stan for Young Justice or Spider-Man or the surprisingly decent DC Animated movies that come straight to Blu-Ray (check out Batman: Year One, if you haven’t yet), I am pretty excited for this Teen Titans: Go to the Movies release because, at the very least, it will introduce a whole new generation to wonderful characters and the world of comics.
Check out the trailer below, which oddly is In a style that reminded me of Deadpool … but for kids and reminds us all that “if Aquaman can get a movie … so can anyone.”
Wise words. Go go!
