Two years ago, A24 released director Yorgos Lanthimos’ first English-language feature to raving reviews. The Lobster starred Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz (and John C. Reilly in a really great, really brief supporting role) and was a very weird, very slow-burning science fiction film with loads of satire and (sometimes literally) sharp humor.
2017 brought Lanthimos’ follow-up, The Killing of the Sacred Deer, which also starred Colin Farrell. Shifting gears from sci-fi to near-horror, Sacred Deer featured brooding, artful tension, as well as the most uncomfortable spaghetti-eating scene of the year. We loved it and wrote a glowing review but, even months after its premiere, it has stuck with us.
Starting tomorrow, we can relive it all over again (finally), when the film is released on Video / Blu-Ray. And, to celebrate that exciting news, our talented friends at Mondo are putting out two limited edition screen-prints of both of these A24 releases.
Both posters will be available tomorrow (1/23) at a random time on mondotees.com
