There’s nothing more I like than being surprised by a film.
Good Time hasn’t received much press leading up to its release (other than one trailer I saw before another movie) … but you’ll be glad that you’re going in completely blind. Good Time is a wild ride from beginning to end. The film never lets up, never a point where you’ll get bored or sneakily check your watch.
Its filmed in a gritty, almost shaky-cam style, and because of that you feel like you are right in the middle of the action. It’s a refreshing take on the classic bank-robbery-gone-wrong trip and, to top it off, Robert Pattinson gives one of his best performances yet. Forget everything you watched in those teen vampire movies because Pattinson shatters any preconceived notions about his acting skills. He delivers with a character that is horrible and ruins everything in his path but, even after all that, are still kind of hoping he makes it out.
Another stand-out is the synth score by Oneothrix Point Never. I can’t wait to listen to it as its own work of art. It’s some solid stuff and really helps hold the movie together, fitting perfectly with the fast paced and gritty vibe of the film.
Good Time is for sure going to end up on a lot of critics’ Top 10 lists for 2017 and deservedly so. The film comes at you fast and never stops. This film is more than a good time and the Safdie Brothers have made a damn good film that I can’t wait to revisit.

Brandon: I was out of town for work so I gave my dad my ticket. I received this text, unedited: “It was really intense I would never watch it again and now you have to watch it thanks for the tickets have a nice trip”
Sounds like a solid flick.
